The Art Of Qi Gong Self Healing

The Art of Qi Gong Self-Healing

Increasingly, the public is becoming more dissatisfied with modern medicine and turning to alternative methods of healing. Qi Gong, one of these alternative methods, is the art of healing yourself. Using your own awareness of your body's make up and functions, you begin to gain control in healing yourself.

Qi gong is an invaluable tool in battling weight issues. Instead of having to struggle to restrict your dietary intake, you learn how your body works in order to better fuel its energy needs. With this nurturing, sustainable, self-directed approach, weight fluctuations decrease and self-awareness increases, allowing you to maintain a diet suited to your individual needs without depriving you of things you like and need.

By revealing how the body regulates itself, qi gong gives you the power to maintain your weight and health. Simple daily exercises can help you increase your digestion rather; consequently, increasing your metabolism so that weight loss is easier. These exercises use posture, gravity, breath, mind and movement to cleanse ones vital life force known as Qi. Once that life force becomes balanced, the body systems become balanced improving the metabolic rate and relieving problems. With extensive documentation in China, qi gong is proven to increase the overall health of the practitioner through better digestion. In the United States, further study is being conducted by The National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine of NIH, who already acknowledges the effectiveness of qi gong.

The digestion process plays a large role in weight maintenance. It is common for people today to have food remaining in the digestive tract too long because of slow digestive processes. With the use of qi gong, this process is sped up which reduces digestive disorders and encourages weight loss. How the body processes the food is just as important to weight loss as the type and amount of food eaten.

Two exercises that can be effective in improving digestion if practiced daily after each meal are as follows:

Exercise 1

Place both hands facing palms down level with your sternum. With fingers almost touching, point the hands toward each other. Slowly move your hands away from your body to be parallel with your stomach. As you feel that your pulling something out of your abdomen, mover your hands apart as far as possible without loosing that feeling of connection. Hold this position until you fell the connection is about to be broken and slowly return your hands to the starting point. You don't need to "think" about it that much; just let it come naturally. If you don't feel the sensations at first, keep practicing; it will come with time.

Exercise 2

Repeat exercise one, but the hands will go to different areas of your middle. Each of five areas need treatment (upper stomach area just below the sternum, half way between your navel and this upper solar plexus, your navel, the area just below your navel, and the area just above the pubic bone). Keep your hands palms down until you reach these lower areas. As you reach your navel, turn your hands palms up. The change can occur wherever seems more comfortable for you.
