Theme parks are one of the most popular vacation choices.  A theme park vacation can be tricky to plan with little children, though.  Be sure you understand all the do's and don'ts of theme park vacations before planning your families next get away.  The following list is some great tips for a family theme park vacation.

- If you have small children choose a family themed park.  Family parks offer rides and attractions aimed at children alongside the larger rides.  If you do not choose a family park then you will end up with children who are bored because there are no rides they can ride or things for them to do.

- Look into packages.  Many theme parks offer packages that can help you save on dinning and accommodations.  You can usually save a large amount of money by buying a vacation package that includes accommodations, park tickets and dining deals.  This is also a good way to enjoy everything the park has to offer instead of worrying about saving money by skipping park dining.

- Save money on drinks by buying souvenir cups.  Souvenir cups are usually a large plastic cup with a lid and straw.  They can be bought and then refilled at a fraction of the price of a new drink.  You'd be amazed at the amount of money you can spend on drinks, so by doing it this way you will be able to save a lot of money..

- Instead of renting a car, use a taxi.  You will find them easy to get outside of your hotel or the park and they will save you money over car rental fees.  Additionally, you won't have to worry about the kids messing up the interior or having to clean it out at the end of the trip.  You will also save yourself from getting lost or getting stressed in traffic.

- Do your research before going.  Make sure you know the basic layout of the park.  Plan family meeting spots in case someone gets lost.  Make sure each family member knows where the first aid and emergency stations are.  Get an idea of what you would like to do each day.  Make a schedule, but be sure to stay flexible.  Do not pack the day so much that nobody can enjoy each attraction.
