Two Ways for a Winter Theme Vacation

A winter vacation is a time to take advantage of the off season in some parts of the country.  For others it is a chance to experience the best winter has to offer.  There are two different viewpoints about winter vacations.  A person is either trying to get away form the winter weather or get into the winter weather.  Both can be fun and exciting and a great way to spend some winter time.

For those coming from areas in the east and mid-west, a winter vacation is a way to escape the snow, ice and freezing temperatures.  They are looking for a get away that is warm and tropical.  They want to be able to forget the hassles of driving icy roads and bundling up to go outside.  Instead they are looking for the sun, the warmth and the ability to be outside without seeing your breath.  They want a piece of summer back in their lives.  Great winter vacations for someone like this are in Florida or Hawaii.

People who want to get into winter weather are those looking for a snow filled paradise.  They may come from places in the south or west that rarely, if ever, see snow.  They want a little vacation time to spend living in the winter wonderland they never get to experience at home.  Great vacations allow them to ski, snow board, sled and ice skate - all things they can not do at home.  They get to experience what winter is supposed to be all about.  Great getaways for these people are Maine or Colorado.

A winter vacation can mean different things to different people.  Basically, though, it is usually about escaping the weather you are stuck with and being able to experience weather you may not otherwise ever get.  It is about living a fantasy of a climate you usually can only dream about.
