Reasons For Being Tired
There are countless reasons for being tired. It seems just about everyone these days complains of being tired at least some point during the day. These people are tired for differing reasons, although there are common trends amongst tired people. Some of these include lack of sleep, poor diet, lack of exercise, alcohol and drugs, stress and health issues.
Some symptoms of tiredness include feeling sleep, blurred vision, lack of concentration, slow reflexes, weakness, headache and low motivation.
Besides reasons we bring on ourselves such as lack of diet, reasons for being tired can come down to an undiagnosed medical condition. Some medical conditions that will make you feel tired include glandular fever, sleeping disorders, coeliac disease and anemia. You should rule out any medical condition as a reason for you being tired by undergoing a full examination including a blood test.
Sleep obviously plays a large part in whether you feel tired or not during the course of the day. Most people think they are tired from lack of sleep. But what about getting too much sleep? This can actually be a reason for being tired as well! If you sleep for more than 11 hours at night then you may feel tired during the day. With that said, you of course must ensure you get the optimum amount of sleep per night, which is about 8 hours for an adult.
Alcohol and drugs can also be a reason for being tired. Alcohol slows down the nervous system as it is a depressant. This disturbs your sleep patterns. Some other drugs actually stimulate the nervous system, making it difficult to sleep. If you are tired and engage in regular drug and alcohol consumption, this is the first aspect of your lifestyle which you should attempt to improve.
These are just some of the reasons for being tired. There are many more including diet, exercise and stress. These and more are addressed in other articles on this website.
