Tips For Tired Looking Eyes
Tired looking eyes are certainly something that nobody wants to have. Not only do you look tired, but tired looking eyes can often make you look much older than you actually are.
Tired looking eyes can be puffy, dark circled and even wrinkled. The skin under the eyes is extremely soft and also has fewer oil glands than the rest of the face. This makes it prone to drying out much quicker than the rest of your face.
Tired looking eyes are caused by lack of sleep, bad diet, high blood pressure, excess alcohol and even from a high salt diet. All of these things can contribute to your eyes looking tired.
The way to reduce or eliminate your tired looking eyes is of course to get more sleep. However there are other ways to cure this problem, or at least relieve it.
- Eliminate or minimize alcohol consumption.
- Cut down on salty foods.
- Use cucumber on the eyes to decrease swelling. Thinly slice the cucumber and leave one slice on each eye for 10 minutes maximum.
- Moisturize around the eyes with a soft moisturizer morning and night
- Try a facial cooling mask. These can often help with tired looking eyes by reducing the puffiness.
Tired eyes can also be caused by fluid retention. You should try not to drink much at all within the last hour or two before you go to bed. This way fluid will not build up around your eyes.
There are eye creams specifically designed for eyes and even for puffy eyes. You should use these in place of general facial creams since the skin around the eyes is much softer than your facial skin.
Some people with tired looking eyes are actually suffering from some sort of diet deficiency. If you feel this is the case, see your doctor and he can quickly and easily confirm if you are deficient of any vitamins. Fixing this problem could totally fix your eye problems as well.
